Sedona, Arizona

This is my first post in this new blog. It’s going to be a pictorial narrative of some of the most colorful, attractive, and spectacular places we have visited during our travels in the lower 48.

Our fulltime travels were haphazard at best. We just traveled from place to place and explored what was in our path, so to speak. Only when we had to make reservations did we do any planning.

During our exploration of Sedona we parked at a very nice, off the beaten path, family owned campground in Camp Verde, AZ. It was about 30 miles from Sedona, just an easy drive over to Cottonwood and then on up to Sedona with a stop at the Dead Horse Ranch State Park on the way.

The links will be active and the pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them.

These pictures were taken on our way in to Sedona. Our long time friends from our Navy days and frequent traveling companions Don & Betty were traveling with us.

The next series of pictures were taken while we were driving up and down some rural streets in Sedona. Our cameras are good quality. Nothing can really capture the splendor or natural color and depth of it better than our eyes. These are just glimpses of a beautiful landscape and some of the dwellings that have been built there.

Then we found this church built on a cliff overlooking a valley below. The next series is of the church and then from the church grounds. Maybe even one from within the church. The lead-in photo of me and Linda was taken in the church parking lot. There was a snack bar with mementos for sale along with some very good coffee.

This Majestic home was still being worked on when we were there.

Now a few pictures from our browsing around in the art mall. All sorts of art stores and a couple of nice places to snack or have a meal.      http://www.tlaq.com/stores.html#Restaurants
